Abstract:
Why does science sometimes feel fragile, uncertain, or even unsettling, and yet reveal such profound beauty? In this talk, I will briefly explore how the human brain is not naturally designed to understand the Universe, and why science had to invent tools like critical thinking and probabilistic reasoning to overcome our intuitions. Using examples from astronomy, we will see how doubt, error, and changing one’s mind are not weaknesses, but drivers of discoveries. Far from taking away wonder, understanding the cosmos reveals a deeper beauty. The "Beauty of Science" that comes from knowing just how rare, fragile, and extraordinary our moment of awareness truly is.
