Filamentary structures on all scales

Filaments are ubiquitous structures throughout the universe: from the cosmic web on Mpc-scales, over the kpc-scale interstellar medium in star forming galaxies, down to the formation of stars on pc-scales in molecular clouds. Distinct communities are thus working on the understanding of its origin and impact, often via similar concepts and methods.
