“When Worlds Collide: Inauguration of the Munich Center for Geoastronomy”
The event celebrates the official inauguration of the Munich Center for Geoastronomy, bringing together researchers in Earth and planetary sciences, astrophysics, and related disciplines to explore the connections between Earth, planets, exoplanets, and the cosmos.

The programme features public talks by world-renowned international scientists and authors as well as scientific talks by local experts from across geosciences, planetary sciences, and astrophysics. Keynote talks include "Searching for Alien Earths" by Lisa Kaltenegger, "Volcanic Outgassing Across Time and Space" by Marie Edmonds, "To See a World in a Point of Light: The Past, Present, and Future of Exoplanet Detection" by Joshua Winn, "The First Minerals and Rocks of the Solar System" by Marc Chaussidon, and "Bridging Stars to Planets: Geoastronomy with Brown Dwarfs" by Adam Burgasser. The event is open to everyone from all disciplines and faculties. Coffee/tea and a light lunch will be provided. Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required. Photographs and/or video recordings will be taken during the event for public relations, communication and documentation purposes, and may be published on the organiser's website, in printed matter, and on social media and professional networking channels.
