Track 1 of the LMU Open Science Summer School 2026 introduces early career researchers to open science practices, covering preregistration, computationally reproducible workflows, and FAIR data sharing. The track is available in-person and online; public lectures are accessible to anyone, while hands-on workshops require a separate application.
Participants learn how to specify research designs
and set up statistical plans in advance of data collection through
preregistration and data simulation; create computationally reproducible
workflows using version-controlled scripts; and prepare and share data
and code according to FAIR principles using adequate repositories and
licenses.
Keynote presenters: Prof. Richard McElreath
(Director, MPI for Evolutionary Anthropology); Dr. Tim Errington (Senior
Director of Research, Center for Open Science); Dr. Danny Maupin
(Research Fellow, University of Surrey).
Participation is possible in-person at the
Philologicum Library, Munich, or online via Zoom. Public lectures are
accessible to anyone upon simple registration; hands-on workshops are
for selected applicants only.
