"Bridging Gaps in High-Mass Star Research: Physical Parameters, Formation and Evolution"
An interdisciplinary MIAPbP programme advancing research on massive stars from formation to final fate.

The BRAHMS programme will bring together experts in massive star research to address open questions on their physical parameters, formation processes, and evolutionary pathways.
The four-week programme is structured into thematic blocks covering:

  • Mass — from spectroscopic and evolutionary mass determination to initial mass function building

  • Angular Momentum — rotation, mixing processes, and binary mass transfer

  • Winds — steady, variable, and eruptive mass-loss episodes and their broader astrophysical impacts

  • Stellar and Cluster Dynamics — environmental influences, runaway stars, and links to compact remnants

By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across observational, theoretical, and modelling communities, BRAHMS aims to integrate our understanding of massive star life cycles into a coherent framework applicable across cosmic time.
