Talk Title: The spatial distribution of stellar populations in bulges
Abstract: I wish to present some new results concerning the spatial distribution of stellar populations in bulges. These results are based on the analysis of the largest sample to date of spiral galaxies for which spectroscopic gradients have been obtained.
I would discuss in particular - the spatial distribution of a number of chemical and age oriented spectral features - the abundace ratios - the link between the stellar populations and the dynamics of the systems - the relative influence of the galaxy Hubble types, bulge luminosities/masses on the bulge properties I would make comparison with elliptical galaxies.
I would conclude by the consequences of these observations for the possible scenarios of spiral galaxy formation.
