Talk Title: The star formation history of Fornax
Abstract: Three fields in the Fornax dSph galaxy were observed with FORS1 at the VLT. The CMDs are comparable in quality to published HST CMDs, but have a much larger number of stars. I will present the analysis of these CMDs in terms of the Fornax star formation history and its gradients, using the new synthetic CMD code IAC-STAR. I will use the oportunity to review some aspects of synthetic CMD computation and comparison with observed data, and to present the IAC-STAR code.
