The new DVD version can be started without
copying/installing anything. Just open the file
index.html on the DVD with your web-browser.
If the movies (AVI) are displayed within
your browser by a PlugIn, in most cases
the control buttons are missing. Nevertheless you may
control (e.g. start/stop) the movie by pressing the right mouse
button on top of the movie.
You need Java Script to be enabled !
Use Netscape 4.0 or higher, Netscape 3.5 will not show all
buttons correctly !
Do not start Netscape with the -geometry option (unix)
otherwise the main window will not have the right size !
If you are running unix, you may use the program xanim
to display the movies, if is it installed on your system. To
bring it up automaticly, you have to change the following settings in the
preferences of your Netscape application:
Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Applications->new
Description: AVI
MIMEType: video/x-msvideo
Suffix: avi
o Application: xanim %s
Due to different font sizes (depending on the system you use), the layout
may look different from the original one, which you can see on the
PC installed at the Deutsche Museum.
