MINING THE SKY

This meeting aimed to investigate methods for the numerical and statistical analysis of astronomical datasets with particular emphasis on the manipulation of the very large databases arising from both existing and forthcoming projects, as well as current large-scale computer simulation studies. Review speakers gave overviews of cutting-edge methods applicable in the area of astronomical data-mining. Case-studies demonstrated the interplay between these techniques and interesting astronomical problems. Targetted talks presented exciting current results, and there were also opportunities for participants to contribute shorter talks or posters.
