##SELF INTRODUCTION ##

I am specializing in astronomy, because I love stars, galaxies, and the Universe. Actually I'm studying the formation and chemodynamical evolution of galaxies using numerical simulations. "Chemical" evolution means the evolution of elemental abundances in the galaxy, which relates stellar evolution, nucleosynthesis, and supernovae. "Dynamical" evolution means the structure evolution of the system that consists of gas, stars and dark matter, which is controlled by gravity and hydrodynamics.

After the PhD at the Univ. of Tokyo, Japan, in Apr.2002, I've worked at the Max-Planck-Institute for Astrophysics (MPA) in Munich, Germany, for three years. That was my first experience of living abroad. I faced a lot of difficulties caused by "differences" and found a lot of interests to appreciate the world.

Now I'm working at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) in Tokyo, Japan. The life in Japan is easy, comfortable, and peaceful to me, but sometimes I miss the abundant European life and friends that I could finally find after my long efforts with tears.

My favorites are aurora, seas, drama plays, and rock music. I've been to Alaska to see the northern lights almost every spring. In summer, I enjoy just looking at the sea, swimming, and scuba diving. I'm looking for something special, something beautiful, tender, absolute, and eternal. When I was student, I belonged to a drama company and was singing in a rock band. Yes, I was an actress and a singer... I can sing a song everytime, everywhere!

The background picture of the top page is TATAMI, which is a Japanese carpet, made from rush. I'm proud of Japanese culture and glad to introduce it to you. I appreciate the variety of cultures in the world and respect all of them. I hate war, even if it has any reason, even after Sep.2001 terrorism. Japan is the only country that experienced atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of the WW II. However, we don't hate US that bombed twice to us. Instead, we made the ninth article of the Japanese Constitution, where we renounce any war and forces. We must learn the importance of peace from the misery of war, that's what I want to tell you.
