15th Workshop on "Nuclear Astrophysics"
March 22 - 27, 2010

Second Circular

This circular is intended to fill in the workshop participants on various logistical details concerning the workshop schedule as well as travel to and accomodation in the Ringberg Castle.

We look forward to seeing all of you in March and hope the workshop will provide a productive atmosphere in which to discuss current research in nuclear astrophysics.

Wolfgang Hillebrandt and Ewald Müller

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

The workshop programme (NOT YET AVAILABLE!) will start on Monday, March 22th at 2.45 pm , and will end on Friday, March 26th at 6.15 pm.

There will be two sessions per day:

Most talks are 20 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion, and some talks 25 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion.

QUESTIONNAIRE

Please fill out the questionnaire and return it to the organizing committee as soon as possible (preferably by FAX: +49 89 30000 2235). It is self-explanatory and will greatly aid us in planning the logistical details of the workshop.

IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE YOUR ANSWER BY FEBRUARY 15, WE WILL ASSUME THAT YOU WILL NOT ATTEND THE WORKSHOP.

TRAVEL

We would like to encourage as many people as possible to come by car since the castle is a bit removed from any convenient public transportation connections.

Information on how to reach the castle from Munich airport or Munich by car or by train can be found here. For those people arriving by train, please note that the trains all depart from platforms 27--36 which are located in the northwest corner of the Hauptbahnhof in Munich.

All participants are requested to try to arrive in Tegernsee during the early afternoon of Monday, March 22, 2010. We will try to make arrangements to meet those participants arriving by train at the station in Tegernsee and by plane at the airport in Munich to bring you to the castle.

The departure date should be not later than after breakfast on Saturday, March 27 (ie. before 9:30 am).

ACCOMMODATION

Since the number of participants may exceed the number of beds available at the castle, we may have to make hotel reservations. Of course, all participants may get their meals at the castle.

Most participants will be housed in single or double rooms available in the castle itself. All meals will be provided daily at the castle to the participants.

The Ringberg Castle is located at the northern edge of the Bavarian Alps and a ski resort is very nearby. We therefore plan if snow conditions permit that one of the afternoons (Wednesday) is free for skiing, or other outdoor activities.

PROCEEDINGS

We do not plan to publish proceedings of the workshop, but instead to make the talks available to the participants in PDF format on the workshop webpage.
