Introduction:

The CoCoNuT code is a general relativistic hydrodynamics code with dynamical spacetime evolution. The aim of this numerical code is the study of several astrophysical scenarios in which general relativity can play an important role, namely the collapse of rapidly rotating stellar cores and the evolution of isolated neutron stars.

After the first CoCoNuT meeting (Feb. 2008) and the CoCoNuT School (Nov. 2008), both held at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching, Munich, a second meeting will take place in 2009. The aim of the meeting is present the current status of the code and, mainly, have the oportunity for listening the last results in which the code have had an important role. There will be enough time for discussions too, in order to plan future lines of research and future developments of the code.

Conference venue:

The meeting will take place at the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics (DAA) of the University of Valencia, in Valencia, Spain, from November 4 to 6, 2009.

If you want to attend the meeting please fill the registration form. We encorage you to register as soon as possible (best before august) since it could be difficult to find hotel rooms for these days in Valencia.

Organizers:
  • Isabel Cordero-Carrión, DAA, Valencia (Spain)
  • Pablo Cerdá-Durán, MPA, Garching bei München (Germany).
  • Jerome Novak, LUTH, Observatoire de Paris, Meudon (France).
  • José María Ibáñez, DAA, Valencia (Spain)
