Zhongli Zhang is working with observations of low mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs) in globular clusters in nearby galaxies. Comparison of populations of GC-LMXBs with field sources shows a difference of primordial and dynamical formation of LMXBs. She also works on LMXBs in early-type galaxies in Chandra archive to study their evolution with the evolution of galaxies.

Stefano Mineo is working on multiwavelength study of nearby star-forming galaxies using Chandra, Spitzer, Galex and 2MASS data. In particular he investigates the relation between the star formation activity and both the X-ray binary population and the diffuse gas emission of the host galaxy. A significant part of his work is the study of X-ray luminosity functions.
