Wave amplitudes from core collapse
Dimensionless gravitational wave amplitude vs. frequency

The data points show the signals predicted by our set of 2D and 3D Newtonian rotational core collapse models.

It is assumed that the source is located at a distance of 10 kpc.

The shaded areas mark the sensitivity limits of the first and advanced LIGO gravitational wave detector.
(detection limit and 5 sigma detection)
